Honoring Charlie Kirk

You have no doubt heard about the recent death of Christian martyr, patriot and apologist Charlie Kirk, who was murdered for righteousness sake. His organization Turning Point USA has faced much opposition and hostility on university campuses where Leftist, Marxist ideology is taught and embraced by the majority of academics. Over previous decades, this Leftist movement has now overtaken the Democrat party and the institutions of society in the United States and other countries in the western world.

If you think this is an exaggeration, here are some statistics for you to consider.

In America’s universities:

  • For every 1 Republican history professor—there are 33 Democrat history professors.
  • For every Republican journalism professor—there are 20 Democrat journalism professors.
  • For every Republican economics professor—there are 9 Democrat economics professors.

Charlie Kirk was invited to university campuses in the U.S. by a minority of students who wanted to hear truth with an open-mind to Christian values and public policies, which are conducive to strong marriages, prosperous nations with free people and personal responsibility.

These open-minded, truth-seeking students want to hear and decide for themselves, rather than be indoctrinated by a taxpayer-funded, union-controlled, biased, Left-wing think tank which controls the anti-patriotic, anti-God narrative in the classrooms.

He has educated and challenged young minds and academics with Christian values and its positive impact on individual lives, governments and nations. He has filled the intellectual and spiritual gap abdicated by schools and churches.

These campus events were open-forum question and answer sessions where students were free to express their view on cultural, political and religious topics and invited to provide evidence and examples to support their beliefs.

Charlie was very bold and unapologetic in his approach. When you know the truth it makes you bold. This makes one unpopular and labelled “controversial” by those who try to defend their positions in the absence of Biblical truth. It exposes the insecure, fragile spiritual, mental and emotional state of these individuals.

The introduction of Turning Point on university campuses in the United Kingdom has been met with hostility from the same dark spiritual forces, according to a recent interview with the current director. So-much-so they have had to curtail their activity. He now states with the murder of Charlie Kirk they will pick up the torch and double-down on their efforts to push back against radical ideologies raging against the minds of the next generation.

In II Timothy 3, Paul looked down through history and described the generation we are now living in and how we should handle it. But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away! always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. Now as Jannes and Jambres resisted Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, disapproved concerning the faith; but they will progress no further, for their folly will be manifest to all, as theirs also was. But you have carefully followed my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, love, perseverance, persecutions, which happened to me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra—what persecutions I endured. And out of them all the Lord delivered me. Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution. But evil men and impostors will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived. But you must continue in the things which you have learned and been assured of, knowing from whom you have learned them, and that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus (II Timothy 3:1-5, 7-14).

Politicians, unelected bureaucrats and those who control the news sources within and outside of the United States, who pursue and uphold unrighteous policies have demonized anyone who disagrees with them. Through the airwaves of the news media and standing in the streets, they have fanned the flames that encourage violence against those who stand for righteousness. God-fearing patriots have been labelled by the Left as “unredeemable deplorables”, “domestic terrorists” and “an existential threat to democracy.”

The hate-filled lies from these politicians and mainstream news outlets have paved the way to the Christian martyrdom of Charlie Kirk. They are just as guilty as the one who pulled the trigger. They also have no idea what they have unleashed. They should not have poked the hornet’s nest. There will now be thousands of Charlie Kirks raised up around the world to speak truth and righteousness in a crooked and perverse generation.

The very message they have tried to silence will be magnified a million times. Thousands of Charlie Kirks will rise up all around the world to speak truth, justice and freedom, all of which are anathema to the global elites and their one-world agenda. I believe this will usher in an Awakening to God and an end-time outpouring of God’s spirit on mankind.

Other ministers have made comparisons to the life of Charlie Kirk with Stephen, the first Christian martyr. Stephen’s wisdom and oratory skills cut to the heart of the religious establishment who had Jesus killed. They could not resist his wisdom, so they killed him.

I will also add, John the Baptist was murdered for righteousness sake. He confronted Herod about taking his brother Philip’s wife. As a result, Herod had him thrown in prison. Being a wimp and a coward, Herod caved in to the request of the manipulating Herodias and had John murdered.

Jesus was confronted by spiritual forces of darkness which drove the religious and political establishment in opposition to His ministry and message. Their unscriptural doctrines and man-made traditions were challenged by the Word of God, which threatened their agenda and control of the religious system they had created. Jesus was “draining the religious swamp” and they could not contend with His wisdom and understanding of the scriptures. Unlike the previous and current martyrs, Jesus was not murdered. He willingly laid down His life to free us from Satan’s control, put is in right-standing with God and restore to us the Blessing of Abraham.

In Acts 22, we see one of many confrontations Paul had with these spiritual forces of darkness when he gave his personal testimony to a Jerusalem mob. In verse 21, he completed his testimony with the words of Jesus: Depart, for I will send you far from here to the Gentiles.

Vs. 22—And they listened to him until this word (Gentiles), and they raised their voices and said, Away with such a fellow from the earth, for he is not fit to live! Then as they cried out and tore off their clothes and threw dust into the air….

Paul, the ex-domestic terrorist, now Christian, triggered the religious establishment with the mention of “Gentiles” sending them into a meltdown where they tore their clothes and threw dirt up in the air. It reads like a modern-day, Left-wing funded riot. The response of the crowd was so outrageous the Roman authorities thought he must be guilty of some greater crime.  No, this was just the irrational, utter madness of the opposition to Paul and the Christian message he represented. This is the same spirit driving the irrational madness and opposition to Charlie Kirk and the Christian message we represent.

What’s going on here? Listen to the words of Jesus: And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil, For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God (John 3:19-21).

If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. Remember the word that I said to you, A servant is not greater than his master. If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you. If they kept My word, they will keep yours also. But all these things they will do to you for My name’s sake, because they do not know Him who sent Me. If I had not come and spoken to them, they would have no sin, but now they have no excuse for their sin. He who hates me hates My Father also. But this happened that the word might be fulfilled which is written in their law, They hated Me without a cause (John 15: 18-23, 25).

This is a spiritual war between good and evil that has spilled over into the end-time cultural, political and spiritual arenas of society. The spirit of Anti-Christ is waging war against the Spirit of God as we approach a great, end-time harvest of new believers in Christ.

What should our response be to this latest wave of persecution and anti-Christian hate crimes?   Now, Lord, look on their threats, and grant to Your servants that with all boldness they may speak Your word, by stretching out Your hand to heal, and that signs and wonders may be done through the name of Your holy Servant Jesus (Acts 4:29-30).
